Indian Air Force was established in the year 1932 and since then, it has been touching the souring heights of eternal sky with great glory. To protect the aerial routes of country from any incursions, IAF is under a massive modernization plan and with increase in fleet; it is eyeing to increase the personnel as well. Hence Indian Air Force has issued fresh notification regarding recruitment of young unmarried Indian males in various technical trades from designated states districts. Eligible candidates may join this recruitment rally for which Tamil Nadu has been selected by Air Force as a venue to conduct recruitment tests.
Indian Air Force Recruitment rally 2013 will take place for the designated districts of Tamil Nadu, Union Territories of Puducherry, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Karaikal. This recruitment is directed for Group X (Technical) division in various trades which are listed below:
- Automobile Fitter
- Electronics Fitter
- Electrical Fitter
- Mechanical System Fitter
- Structures Fitter
- Propulsion Fitter
- Workshop Fitter (Smith)
- Workshop Fitter (Mechanical)
- Weapon Fitter
Candidates applying for the posts of Airmen should have been born between 01/02/1994 and 31/05/1997 with both days inclusive. On date of enrolment, upper age limit of candidates should not exceed 21 years of age.
Those who have passed Intermediate/ 10+2/ equivalent with physics, chemistry, and mathematics with minimum 50% aggregate marks can apply under this rally. Other than these, candidates having Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation Technology/ Automobile/ Information Technology/ Computer Science) with minimum 50% overall aggregate marks from a recognized government Polytechnic can also apply for these posts.
Applicants should have a minimum height of 152.5 cms and weight should be proportionate to height to apply for Airmen posts. They should be free from any sickness or medical deformity and able to work anywhere, in any terrain, or any climate.

Selection of eligible candidates will be made on the basis of a written test, physical fitness test (PFT), interview, and medical examination. These tests will be conducted at Seethakathi Sethupathy Stadium, Collectorate Campus, Ramanathapuram (Tamil Nadu). Candidates are required to bring along necessary stationery, original documents, 7 recent passport size photographs, and two self addressed white envelopes on the day of tests.
Dates of recruitment rally: 18/10/2013 to 23/10/2013 where 22/10/2013 and 23/10/2013 are reserve days.
